How to go about from ESL to Bilingual?

In 1997, I came to Canada from Taiwan at the age of fourteen. One of the major concern of my educators at the time was that I was too young to fully realize the profundity of Mandarin and I was too old to become a truly native English speaker.

Fast forward to 2023, quarter-century later, I have studied in MSc – Electrical and Computer Engineering, hold sales and marketing managerial position in various industries over the past decade, and passionately helped individuals to pass their IELTS exams to qualify for their graduate study and immigrant status.

In regards to language skills, one could advocate that I came at the best age to master two very distinctive systems. On the contrary, in the art of communication, I would argue age will be the littlest of known factors on how to become a fluent English speaker, multilinguist or even a polyglot.

We are in the age of communication, whether it’s through the most commonly used language amongst human or the AGI based binary sequence. Join me to explore how to effectively communicate to organic and none-organic alike.
