This course is designed for little programmers who are interested in joining a Scratch coding competition hosted by “International Kids Coding Competition (IKCC)”. During this 5-week course, students will design and implement their unique works according to the competition topic of the year. Our experienced competition instructor will provide constructive guidances, advices and feedbacks.
The ultimate goal of this course is to instill a sense of software architecture design and to improve students' coding skills via the process of implementing a complete project. At the end of this course, each student will submit one or more projects as their competition Scratch works. Regardless of the competition result, the entire course of working on a complete project will definitely be their best practical experience. And they will feel much more comfortable and ease to learn any other programming language in the future.
Week 1: Introduction to the competition rules, contest topic, work submission and other related requirements. Brainstorm for the initial design.
Week 2: Design Review and Software Architecture Layout
Week 3: Implementation with 1-on-1 and group discussions
Week 4: Implementation with 1-on-1, Final Work Review and submitting the project to IKCC
Note: The progress of each module varies with respect to individual student due to the different coding skills
